INSEC condemns on padlocking HURADEC Office
Informal Sector Service Centre (INSEC) has condemned through a press release on March 20 regarding the padlocking of Human Rights Awareness and Development Centre (HURADEC) office in Dolakha on March 19 by the cadres of Young Communist League (YCL).
The press release signed by INSEC chairperson Subodh Raj Pyakurel stated that despite of lodging complaints at judicial bodies regarding the activities of the organization, it is crime and undemocratic practice by the YCL to padlock the organization by being themselves a “Judge”.
The organization was padlocked by a team of YCL cadres led by District chairperson Santosh KC on charge of working against the code of conduct of election, lack of accountability and transparency, said HURADEC.
The press release, INSEC demands to immediately re-open the organization for its daily operation and condemns the step taken by YCL on violating the rights delivered by the law and constitution.
According to INSEC district representative Uddav Pokhrel of Dolakha, the chairperson Hom Pathak of the organization through a press release has committed to continue advocacy for human rights, good governance and social justice. The statement has drawn a serious attention on misbehaving the staff before padlocking the office by the YCL cadres.
Similarly, NGO federation of Dolakha has also released a press statement and draws its attention on the incident of padlocking of the office.
