INSEC  chairperson urges for voter’s education

INSEC chairperson Subodh Raj Pyakurel said that if the voters are aware the election will be successful for about 75 percent. He further urged observers to go for voter’s education.

While speaking at the program on “local level election-observation facilitation” organized by CCCE in Kathmandu on May 9, Pyakurel said that the major target is to conduct election in peaceful and fearless environment and urged observation to be focused on village and local level along with awareness.

Pyakurel said that the campaign is operating voters education program and the media are broadcasting it live in a daily basis. He recommended to aware people through jingle and PSA.

He added that the observers do not have right to intervene the election however, they can lodge complaint in concerned authority

INSEC executive director Bijaya Raj Gautam highlighted the objectives of the program.

Speaking at the program, vice-secretary of planning and monitoring department,  Mukunda Sharma urged observers to be sensitive on election code of conduct.

The secretariat of the campaign is in INSEC which includes coalition of HURON, community radion broadcasting federation, election observation committee, and common youth campaign for election and discharged combatant Nepal etc.

The secretariat is operating campaign targeting for the upcoming election on May 14 and June 14.
