INSEC Announces Its support to Manage Martyr’s Park

INSEC chairperson Subodh Raj Pyakurel has announced to support Nepal’s first Women martyr’s idol and park for it’s management. Chairperson Pyakurel while addressing a tribute program on January 30 announced that he will support Rs 100,000 as a financial support for the management of the park .

The program began with garlanding the idol of five martyrs including three women, one child and one men on the occasion of Martyr’s Day.

In 1990, February 20,  movement ,61 years old Janaki Devi Yadav, 45 years old Maneshwori Devi Yadav , 38 years old Sonawati Devi Yadav, including 15 years old Udaya Shanker Mandal and 35 years old Ram Narayan Yadav were killed in a police firing.

Speaking at the program, chairperson Pyakurel said that the dream of martyr is still not fulfilled and stressed that it needs a hard work to fulfill it.

The park was constructed with a financial support of INSEC in 1991 and first brick laying ceremony was conducted by late former Primi Minister Girija Prasad Koirala. The park was inaugurated in  1999 by late former Prime Minister Mana Mohan Adhikari.
