Inmates and detainees facing difficulties due to the lack of adequate water
The inmates and detainees at district prison of Ilam are facing difficulties as they do not have adequate water.
There are 244 inmates and detainees in the prison however it has a capacity to accommodate only 125 of them.
Prison chief Bhakta Bahadur Khadka said that along with the beginning of dry season, there is a shortage of water in the prison.
He added that inmates and detainees are facing difficulties on bathing, washing clothes and going to the toilet. The prison administration said that the issue cannot be solved immediately as the source of water is getting dry.
The administration also said that if there is a severe shortage, water tanker will be provided to the inmates and detainees.
