Inmates and detainees facing difficulties due to over crowd
The inmates and detainees at District Prison of Parbat are facing difficulties due to the over crowd of the prison. The prison is overcrowded thrice its capacity.
It has capacity to accommodate only 25 inmates and detainees however there are 78 at present including five women.
Prison chief Mohan Prasad Upadhyaya said that majority of inmates and detainees are put in a single room. They are facing difficulties on eating, sleeping, going to toilet and have many other health issues.
The prison is “E” graded and the building is in dilapidated condition.
