Injured in Tharuhat Movement getting treatment after nine years

“ My friend, who were with me, died on the spot after getting bullet shot, luckily I escaped”. This is the statement of 29 years old Sanjeet Mahato of Ratna Nagar-7 who is the survivor of Terai movement during 2008.

In that movement Bipin Khadka and Kamal Chaudhary were killed in a police firing while agitating for one Madhes one Pradesh.

At that time Sanjeet was very young and he was in a front of the demonstration. He was shot in his right leg. After almost nine years, he is admitted in the hospital for the treatment.

Immediately after getting bullet shot in 2008, he was rushed to the hospital however the doctors involved in his treatment said that his legs need to be imputed which he denied.

Due to the lack of financial condition, he could not get treatment in Kathmandu. “The government has contributed only 32,000 till now”, he said. At present he is getting treatment and Doctors involved in his treatment said that he will be able to walk freely in future. Doctors involved in his treatment said that the hospital has given him service freely.
