Human Rights Committee Directs Government to Amend Transitional Justice Act
The Social Justice and Human Rights Committee under the legislature parliament has ordered the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs to amend Act 2071 under CIED and TRC.
The meeting of committee held on August 24 decided to direct ministry to proceed the work of both committees in an effective way by amending the acts as per Apex Court’ decision and international norms according to committee’s chairperson Sushil Kumar Shrestha.
Similarly, the ministry has been directed to present legal draft in legislature parliament regarding National Dalit Commission, National Inclusive Commission, Indigenous Commission, Madhesi Commission and Tharu and Muslim Commission provided by Nepal constitution according to Shrestha.
