Four Protesters Injured In Police Baton Charge

At least four protesters were injured in a baton charged by police when a group of youth called “I am Nationalist”, had a clash with police after they established an idol of late king Birendra Bir Bikram Shah at Birendra Chok in Nepalgunj.

Chandra Hamal, 29 of Nepalgunj Municipality-2 was injured in a clash. Similarly, Manoj Shrestha,49 of Nepalgunj Municipality-2, Manoj GM,32 of same sub-metrololis-27 and Bijaya Gurung,38 of sub metropolis-16 were injured in a clash.

The injured are undergoing treatment at Medical College, Nepalgunj according to Tej Narayan of “I am Nationalist” group.

SP Tek Prasad Rai of District Police office said that the group was allowed to put national flag but they cheated police and established late king’s idol. The baton was charged to avoid possible clash with other political parties according to the police.
