Forty-Three Victimized by Sexual Violence out of Fifty-Eight Cases Reported under Gender Based Violence

Forty-three individuals have been victimized by sexual violence out of fifty-eight cases reported under gender-based violence during the period of Sixteen Days Activism against Gender Based Violence (November 25 to December 10 2019) this year. INSEC has published this report by analyzing the data and news received by INSEC Human Rights Documentation Department and INSEC Online.

According to the record of INSEC, nine women and eighteen girl children were raped. Ten women including a four-year-old girl child were reported sexually abused and six women were victimized by attempt to rape during this reporting period.

During this timeframe five female endangered to be trafficked including three girl child, whereas two women were blamed as so called witchcraft and four female including a girl child were killed by the family members.

A woman reported dead in the Hut (Chhau Goth) in Achham District and a woman being injured by the physical attack of her son during this period. INSEC is publishing such reports every year during the period of Sixteen Days Activism against Gender Based Violence.
