Election update (14:00)

The voters of Pataura Tole in Kalaiya sub-metropolis of Kalaiya have boycotted the polling process for about two hours. Total of 394 voters have protested and boycotted the polling process in irrigation building polling centers protesting against the wrong name written as “Pathara” instead of “Pataura” by the election commission. After the agreement has been reached to correct the name, the voters agreed to participate the process after 9 am according to INSEC observer Bhola Nath Paudel.


According to INSEC district representative Santosh Singh of Sarlahi, police has opened fire at Phulparasi of Sarlahi to control the clash between the cadres of Nepali Congress and RJP. The dispute started after RJP cadres were stopped by the cadres of Nepali Congress while they were in a queue for voting. The clash started after the NC cadres attacked the cadres of RJP and police had to ope fire to control the mob according to CDO Krishna Bahadur Katwal.


In ward office building of  Suryabinayak Municipality-1, (A) polling center, at about 20 ballot papers were found to be voted without the signature of polling officer. After the incident, the polling resumed after it was agreed to correct in political agreement during counting based on the information received from INSEC district representative Sabina K.C


In Salyan, locals said that there has been series of explosion reported near Suryodaya Primary School Kuiyapani Booth of Bagchaur Municipality-9 based on the information from INSEC district representative Meena Budathoki. CDO Parmananda Ghimire urged voters to cast their votes without fear as security has been tightened.

In Galyang Municipality-6 of Syangja, cadres Chabilal Pandey and Eek Narayan Tiwari of UML were attacked. Both the cadres sustained serious injuries. According to CDO Mahesh Acharya , the investigation is under investigation. The injured were sent to Pokhara for treatment. Four people have been arrested on the involvement of attack according to District Administration Office. According to Syangja district representative Him lal Parajuli. Pipe bomb was recovered from Waling Municipality-10 which was disposed by army quoting ward police office of Waling.

Meanwhile in Arghakhanchi, there was a clash reported between the cares of left alliance and Nepali Congress where ward chairperson Janardan Khanal including two people were injured. A bomb was recovered near Betari of Sandhikharka Municipality-1 which was disposed by army.

According to Gulmi district representative Top Lal Aryal, the polling has begun only after 11 Pm in two polling centers of Kaligandaki Rural Municipality-5 Phoksi. According to the district polling office all-party meeting started before beginning of polling.

In Nawalparasi, a bomb was exploded at Bardaghat Municipality-9 Rajamahatma School polling center. The polling process was halted for some time. The process has resumed now.

Similarly in Rupendehi, Kaski, Parbat, Tanahu, Kapibastu and Palpa, the polling is continuing peacefully according to our district representatives.

Bhaktapur (11:50)

A clash has been reported at Ganesh Lower Secondary School polling center of Suryabinayak Municipality ward number 3 between the cadres of UML and Nepali Congress. In a clash one person was injured and glasses around the polling centers were smashed however the details of the incident are yet to be received according to INSEC district representative Sabina KC. The polling has resumed at present.


In Betalmandu Seconary Polling Center in Sanfebagar municipality-10 of Achham, there wa a clash between Nepali Congress and UML representatives where NC representative Tej Bahadur Badahit was injured and receiving treatment at local health post according to out district representative Shiva Raj Dhungana

Saptari (10:50)

According to the Saptari district representative Manohar Kumar Pokhrel, until 10 am none of the voters have turned up for voting at polling center in ward number 2 of Mahadeva Rural Municipality. C.K Raut is from this village and they were told not to participate in voting process few days ago according to CDO Bhagirath Pandey. There are 283 voters in this polling center.

Kailali (9:00)

In Dhangadhi High School Polling station of Dhangadhi Municipality-8, a bomb was recovered which was disposed by Nepal army. The environment of the polling center was terrified for some time however later the process begun according to INSEC district representative Rabina Chaudhary.

According to Lalitpur district representative Keshav Raj Bhatta, in polling station at Transportation Office in Ekantakuna there are more than 4,000 voters. Voters are finding difficulties and are in confusion during the process.

According to Bhupendra Bista of Dadeldhura, a bomb was recovered from Bhageshwor Secondary School Batal polling center which was disposed by Nepal Army


According to Dang district representative J.N Sagar a clash has been reported at Shre Gaun Polling center of Dansisaran Rural Municipality-6 between the cadres of left alliance and democratic alliance over a dispute while candidate Uttam Kumar Oli of left alliance was on the way to cast his vote . In a clash democratic alliance cadre 34 years old Tek Bahadur KC and 24 years old Chitra Bahadur KC was injured and both were rushed to the hospital. The polling resumes after some time.

According to Salyan District representative Meena Budathoki, there was a sound of explosion near the Tharmare polling center in Bagchaur Municipality. The incident is under investigation according to police. In other polling centers of the district, the polling process is commencing peacefully.

According to Banke district representative Binod Pandey, the polling process in some of the polling centers were started 30 minutes late as the political representatives did not come on time. Apart from this, in all other polling centers the process is peaceful till now. Police have expedited their security check and controlled some vehicles running without the permission.
