INSEC chairperson Subodh Raj Pyakurel said that the election commission is in shadow of the state along with the approaching date of election.
He said that commission is completely silent even when the state is violating the election code of conduct by transferring staffs on the eve of the election.
Speaking at the interaction program organized by CCCE in Ilam, chairperson Pyakurel accused commission of not being able to stop state on openly violating election code of conduct.
He urged all the observers to report security chief or polling officer if anomalies are found in polling stations or centers they are assigned for observing. The observers must show their discipline and must not cross their code of conduct.
Another speaker, advocate J.B Lungeli accused that commission despite of being independent is acting like a government’s branch. Chairperson Tara Nath Parajuli of Bar association said that commission just ask clarification with the violator of election code of conduct, nothing more than that. He added that the voter’s education does not have any effectiveness and government is wasting money on that.
