EC urges political parties not to organise receptions in festivals
Election Commission has urged the political parties and organisations associated with political parties not to organise tea reception and other gatherings on the occasion of Bijaya Dashami, Tihar and Chhath festivals quoting RSS source.
Different programmes like tea reception to be organised by political parties and organisations associated with them in public places could surface problems in holding elections of House of Representatives and State Assemblies in free, fearless and economic manner.
The EC urged them not to carry out such activities at a time when election code of conduct is being enforced for the elections scheduled on November 26 and December 7.
The EC also decided to urge all concerned sides to follow the election code of conduct without organising reception programmes, said EC Spokesperson Nabaraj Dhakal.
