Dr K.C Resumes Hunger Strike Demanding Reformation in Medical Sector
Professor Dr Govinda KC has again started his hunger strike in TUTH from September 26 demanding the reformation of medical sectors.
Dr KC said that he was compelled to re stage a hunger strike after his demands were neglected by the parliament. He added that there was some progress made to address his demand by the government however he complained parliament of being silent in serious issues like intervention and irregularities by constitutional bodies. This is his ninth hunger strike in a row.
He demanded for an immediate approval of medical education Act with amendment, initiating process to impeach Lok Man Singh kaki and Raj Narayan Pathak including implementation of his past agreement made by the government.
Similarly, he had also demanded to end political interference in the Institution of Medicine (IOM) along with the appointment of dean based on seniority. Prior to this strike, the government had agreed to address his demand.
