Discussion with Stakeholders on the Human Rights Situation
INSEC Executive Director Bijay Raj Gautam has discussed the overall human rights situation with the stakeholders of Karnali on February 22.
Executive Director Gautam met Karnali Province Assembly Speaker Raj Bahadur Shahi, Chief District Officer Hiralal Regmi, and DIG of the Province Police Office Basanta Pant to discuss the human rights situation in the province.
During the discussion, Gautam said that the state and other stakeholders should be serious about the geographical situation of Karnali, social evils, increasing domestic violence, and child marriage. Gautam said that INSEC was committed to making the events included in the Nepal Human Rights Year Book objective in the coming days.
Gautam, Chief of Human Rights Documents and Advocacy Department Shreeram Bajgain, INSEC Karnali Province Coordinator Narayan Subedi, and Lumbini Province Coordinator Bhola Mahat were present at the discussion.
Similarly, Gautam is scheduled to meet with a human rights group formed in Birendranagar Municipality under the ELP project on February 23 to discuss the human rights situation, said Province Coordinator Narayan Subedi.
