Nepal Federation of Journalist Association (FNJ) has drawn its attention on intimidation and taking control of journo Sudeep Bardewa of Radio Mirmire by police on September 21 at Ekantakuna of Lalitpur while gathering information.
FNJ has said that intimidating journo is the intervention press freedom and freedom of speech.
The press statement release by the federation secretary Dhruba Lamsal on September 21 has condemned the incident and demanded to take action against the guilt. It has also demanded to ensure the security of journalist.
The journalist was misbehaved and beaten by the police while he was taking photos regarding the protest by the public on disruption of work in Transport Management Office. Police had charged baton in the incident. The victim said that he was taken control by the police and beaten him.
