The declaration was made to control the protest that began after a tripper collided with bike number Bhe 1 Kha 2242 and killed Keshar Bahadur Singh (21) of Kalikot.

This incident happened at 8am on 28 January. DAO declared the curfew in some parts due to the insecurity felt by the relatives of the deceased, said CDO Basanta Adhikari.

After an agreement of local administration and relatives of the deceased the dead body was to be taken for rituals but since the riots became extreme, they decided to declare curfew.

Meanwhile, in the protest between the police and demonstrators for severe action to the tripper driver and for proper compensation to the victim’s family; the police did firing at 5pm which injured four people.
