Court Slams seven and half years to a rape convict
The District Court of Jhapa has ordered to sentence 72 years old Kamal Bahadur Chauhan of Barhadashi Rural Municipality-5 for seven and half years on June 18 after finding him guilty on raping 22 years old inteletually differently woman.
The court has also ordered for the compensation of Rs 25,000 from the convict to the victim. A single bench of district court judge Khil Nath Regmi had given the verdict regarding the case.
A complaint against rape was lodged at Area Police Office of Anarmani on February 19 by the victim’s father and he was arrested on a same day.
The cnvict was remanded in custody since then by the court order on March 3. The victim underwent health checkup at Mechi Zonal Hospital on February 19.
