Court slams five years to a rape convict
The District Court of Panchthar has ordered to sentence 28 years old Mahendra Pandhak of Hilihang Rural Municipality-7 for five years after finding him guilty on raping 23 years old woman.
A single bench of District Court judge Manoj KC had given a verdict regarding the case.
Police had lodged complaint against the accused on March 28 and by the court order, he was remanded in custody since then.
A complaint against the accused was lodged by the victim’s family at District Police Office on March 10 accusing him of rape on March 9. She underwent health checkup at District Hospital on a same day. DSP Bam Dev Gautam of DPO said that the absconding accused was arrested on March 12 for the investigation.
