Court Slams Eight Years to a rape convict
The District Court of Saptari has ordered tp sentence 22 years old Dharmendra Kumar Das Tatma of Bodebosain Rural Municipality-6 for eight years after finding him guilty on raping 12 year old girl. The court had also ordered for the compensation of Rs 30,000 from the convict to the victim.
A single bench of District Court judge Harish Chandra Dhungana had given the verdict regarding the case.
The victim was raped on her house by the accused in 2015, June 18 after entering into her room. The accused was controlled by the locals and handed over to the Area Police Office of Bode on June 19.
The Area Police Office had attempted to settle the case and accused was released by making his father as a guarantee. After the police office showed apathy on processing the case, the victim’s mother lodged an FIR against the accused at DPO on August 26.
The victim underwent health checkup at Sagarmatha Zonal Hospital on June 26. The absconding accused was arrested by the police on June 26.
