Court Declares Twelve Years of Imprisonment to Rape Accused
Court has declared 12 years of imprisonment to Binod Mahara, 19, of Dhangadhimai Municipality-10 for raping a 14-year-old girl. The accused has also been fined Rs. One hundred thousand as compensation to the victim.
The accused was declared guilty of rape by Judge Puspa Raj Thapaliya on December 28.
The victim was raped on January 16, 2020. The victim’s family had lodged a complaint against Mahara at the Area Police Office, Lahan on the same day. The girl was examined at the District Hospital, Siraha on January 16.
According to the police, Mahara has been remanded in custody for trial after the Area Police Office arrested him on February 10, 2020.
