Court Declares Five Years of Imprisonment to Rape Accused
Rupesh Yadav, 21, of Siraha Municipality-13, and Brahmadev Mahato, 39, of Siraha Municipality-5 have been sentenced to five years imprisonment and a fined Rs 50,000 each for raping a 17-year-old girl on January 20, 2020.
A bench of Judge Manoj Kumar Srivastava passed the verdict. The victim’s family had lodged a complaint against Yadav and Mahato at the District Police Office, Siraha on August 9, 2018, alleging that they had raped the girl on August 6, 2018.
The girl was examined at the District Hospital, Siraha on August 9. The District Police Office, Siraha had arrested the two on July 8.
Yadav and Mahato have been in custody since September 3, 2018.
