Corona Virus: Status Update of Province 5 of April 13

Corona Hospital Butwal with the support of Gautam Buddha Community Hospital has built an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) that has a capacity of 10 beds. Chief Minister (CM) Shankar Pokharel, after monitoring the hospital has said that the country is going to fight against coronavirus by the collective efforts of everyone. Extending his appreciation, CM Pokharel thanked the people who were involved in building the ICU ward.

According to the District Representative of Dang, Jayanarayan Pun, 10 local governments of the district have so far collected total 3 crore 74 Lakh and 50 thousand NPR under ‘Coronavirus Emergency Fund.’ Local governments have distributed emergency relief materials to 12,620 destitute families.RDT were conducted on 14 people and all reports resulted in negative.

According to the District Representative of Nawalparashi, Narayan Parajuli, to control the ongoing movement of people despite the lockdown, police have been mobilized. Within the district, 12 people got arrested on April 13 for violating the lockdown.

According to the District representative of Rolpa, Harishara Gharti, RDT was conducted on 35 people and all tests resulted in negative.

According to the District Representative of Rupandehi, Rima BC, Butwal Sub-Metropolitan Office has built an isolation hospital with a 100-bed capacity.

According to the District Representative of Kapilbastu, Parbati Acharya, the RDT reports of 115 people have resulted in negative. District Administration Office has informed that lockdown has so far been effective in the district, made possible by the collaboration of local governments, health workers, civil society organizations and security personnel.

According to the District Representative of Palpa, Yagya Murti Timilshina, lockdown is being fully implemented in the district. An Indian migrant worker of CG Company is found to have coronavirus symptoms and he is kept in an isolation ward of Lumbini Medical College. His COVID-19 test report is yet to come.

According to the District Representative of Gulmi, Topalal Aryal, the RDT reports of 18 people resulted in negative. District Health Office has provided RDT kits to the local level health workers. Due to the limited numbers of kits, the tests are being conducted only the people staying in quarantine shelter.
