Corona Virus: Status Update of Gandaki Province of April 12
Various districts of Gandaki Province are having the Rapid Diagnostic Test (RDT), meanwhile, there has been a suspect of infection in Baglung.
According to the District Representative of Baglung, Srijana Pant, a woman was found positive with the infection which makes it two infections in Baglung. Out of seven people going through the test, a 65-year-old woman was found positive, informed Chairperson of the Rural Municipality Amar Bahadur Thapa. The woman had returned from a pilgrim visit from India a few weeks back. Right now, she is in quarantine. To confirm the infection, her swab has been sent to Kathmandu. Kathekhola Rural Municipality examined 57 out of which 56 tests were found negative. There were total 308 tests conducted.
According to the District Representative of Kaski, Sushan Ghimire, till date, 227 people have visited the fever clinic. Out of 11 quarantines in Kaski there are 493 beds. 96 people are staying in-home quarantine. In one month, there have been 348 people returning from abroad out of the 95 tests have been taken. Out of them, 85 were negative and 10 reports are pending. There have been 19 total Rapid Tests.
According to the District Representative of Gorkha, Hari Ram Uprety, a total of five swabs have been sent for test. Their swabs have been sent to Pokhara.
According to the District Representative of Nawalparasi (Bardaghart Susta East), Tirtha Raj Dumre, all the local levels have started the Rapid Tests from 11 April. Till 12 April there have been 62 tests. Baidakali Rural Municipality has four more people in the quarantine which makes it total 20 right now.
According to the District Representative of Parbat, Santosh Thapa, there have been 66 swab collected and sent to Pokhara Health Science Academy. All the reports are negative. Till now 168 people have been tested and are found negative. All the seven local levels have spontaneously been distributing reliefs. They are distributing reliefs worth rs. one million sixty-six hundred. The District Administration Office has instructed of not conducting any fairs.
According to the District Representative of Tanahu, Prakash Chandra Bhattarai, they have been conducting rapid tests. All the people coming from different countries are being tested. They have 642 kits for the test. Byas Municipality has 120 kits, Sukla Ganakdi Municipality has 100 kits, Bhanu Municipality has 85 kits and Bhimad Municipality has 60 kits. In total 720 people are returning from India. The needy ones are being provided with relief by the local level. But while distributing the relief, even the prosperous families are coming for the relief and creating chaos.
According to the District Representative of Myagdi, Amrit Prasad Poudel, they have conducted rapid test on 19 individuals at the Malika Rural Municipality-6. Out of the one has been selected for swab test.
According to the District Representative of Lamjung, Dal Bahadur Majakoti, in different fever clinics, a total of 53 have visited for service till 12 April and 66 have been rapidly tested. Three people living in quarantine have returned home. The administration has rescued 18 daily-waged workers from drinking water construction site. They have been provided with food and shelter.
