Corona Virus: Status Update of Sudurpaschim Province of April 12
More than 2,000 test samples of covid-19 have been collected in Sudurpaschim Province. Rapid Dignostic Test (RDC) has been conducted on a total of 2,231 people. Corona virus infected 4 cases are under treatment in Seti Province Hospital, Dhangadhi.
According to the District Representative of Darchula, Narendra Karki, local governments of the district have been distributing essential food supplies to the families in need.
Marma Rural Municipality has decided to provide promotional allowances to the health personnel working in health institutions of the rural municipality. With this decision rural municipality will add 50% allowances to their basic salary.
According to the District Representative of Baitadi, Nari Badu, among 425 throat swab sample tests, the report of 133 cases resulted in Covid-19 negative and report of remaining cases is yet to come.
According to the District Representative of Dadeldhura, Bhupendra Bista, District Administration Office has requested to the public to celebrate Bishu Festival only within family members. To avoid corona virus spread, Administration and local governments are requesting the people to maintain social distancing and celebrate the festival inside safely. Bishu festival is one of the largest festivals of Sudurpaschim which is celebrated among large groups.
According to the District Representative of Achham, Shivaraj Dhungana, 53 people who were staying at Mangalsen quarantine shelter had returned to home quarantine as their covid-19 test reports resulted in negative. In the month of April more than 4,000 people reached Achham from India and third countries but they are not monitored.
Provincial Human Rights Defenders (HRD) Network has appealed province and local governments to provide essential relief packages to the families in need, rescue and bring stranded people from border, and conduct covid-19 test on suspected cases.
