Commission’s Disagreement on Transitional Justice Draft Bill
The National Human Rights Commission’s (NHRC) chairperson Anup Raj Sharma said that the commission has a disagreement over the draft bill of transitional justice.
He expressed his views while speaking at the discussion program with Human Rights activists at INSEC western regional office on September 10 and added that the draft bill is made weaker and in own favor and commission do not agree with it, said chairperson Sharma.
In the program, he said “only 14 percent of the recommendations regarding the implementation of complaints lodged at Commission were implemented”.
He complained that the government has behaved commission as an opposition party and said that if the draft on torture bill presented in parliament is passed, it will add further support on evidences of conflict era cases.
