Citizen’s in the crisis after the closure of Free health Service of District Hospital

The beneficiaries in Ilam are facing difficulties after the free-health services to senior and people with disability announced by the government has closed.

Officer Rita Adhilari of the District Hospital said that the service has been closed after the government has failed to provide grant to the hospital in return of providing free services.

 In financial year 2015/16, the government has had failed to pay Rs 2,50,000 to the hospital in return of free service. After that, the free service has been interrupted according to her.

More than 100 patients in daily basis were having benefit from this free service.

The hospital has given free doctor counseling, medicine and beds services to the elderly and disabled persons however it charges for lab cost which has affected the targeted community.

It is uncertain whether the budget will be allocated again or not according to the hospital administration.
