The locals of Limi VDC complained that they are compelled to charter helicopter by paying high price as there is no maternity services in VDC.

Tenzing Tamang, husband of 35 years old Dolmaphuti said that he was compelled to pay Rs 700,000 to charter a helecopter from Kathmandu to airlift his wife  from Limi VDC-2  after she suffered from severe labor pain.

The District headquarter is 52 miles away from Limi VDC. Dolmaphuti was suffering from labor pain since November 29 and could not get treatment  due to the lack of maternity services in the VDC.

Nepal government has implemented free maternity services however it is not being so effective.

The maternity service being very poor in the district, the locals are compelled to airlift patient to Kathmandu according to Tenzing Tamang.

According to the family, the mother underwent a treatment at Norvic hospital in Kathmandu however they could not save her baby.
