With the main slogan of “ Sustainable Peace is Base For Building Nation”, 35th International Peace Day is being celebrated in various districts of the nation.
According to INSEC regional office of Far-western, peace rally was organized in districts with joint coordination with Peace Committee of Kailali and other organizations. The rally was converted into triangular assembly with a speech by various personnel stressing the initiation from everyone to establish sustainable peace in the country.
INSEC Western regional office of Pokhara said that, in Kaski morning rally was organized to mark the day. There was some interaction programs organized. Speaking at the program, CDO Hari Prasad Mainali said that due to the lack of discrimination and good governance, society is facing discord. He added that promoting peace is not limited to one country but necessary globally.
INSEC district representative Narayan Bhusal of Arghakhanchi said that a morning rally was organized at SandhiKharka in the morning. Most of the speakers at the program had stressed on implementation of constitution in order to achieve sustainable peace in the country. They have also raised voice against the incidents of bomb explosion in various part of the capital on September 20.
According Saptari District Representative Manohar Kumar Pokhrel, fruits were distributed to 100 patients at Gajendra Narayan Singh Sagarmatha zonal Hospital in Rajbiraj. The local peace committee of the district has distributed fruits to the victims according to the coordinator Niranjan Jha of Local Peace Committee.
In Dhanusha, candle lightening program was organized in the district in coordination with Local Peace Committee, INSEC , WOREC including various organizations at Janakpur to mark the international day of Peace according to our district representative Binod Kumar Rabidas.
Similarly, an interaction program was also organized in Dhanusha in coordination with Local Peace Committee. Meanwhile, a book “ Shanti Smarika-2073” was made public on the occasion of Peace day. Speaking at the program CDO Dilip Kumar Chapagain said that political consensus is essential for the sustainable peace in the country.
Former coordinator Komalkanta Jha of Local Peace Committee said that perpetrators from the incident of conflict era must be brought under the legal boundaries as victims were victimized by both state and non-state actors.
According to District Representative Indira Bhattarai from Morang, candles were lit to mark 35th International Peace Day in Biratnagar on September 21. People were gathered in Janaandolan Chok wishing peace.
While speaking at the program,chairperson Mahesh Regmi pf Local Peace Committee said that sustainable peace must be established in the country by implementing constitution and addressing the demands of dissatisfied group.
According to the Khotang District Representative Sunita Magar, an interaction program was organized in the district to mark the day. Coordinator Shyam Kumar Rai of Local Peace Committee stressed on providing justice to the victims of enforced disappearance and displaced people to establish sustainable peace in the country.
