An interaction program on CCCE is held in Lahan of Siraha on September 15.
Speaking at the program INSEC chairperson and CCCE co-chairperson Subodh Raj Pyakurel said that the awareness in voters and clean candidate is necessary for fair election.
He said that none of the political parties have followed the election code of conduct and urged everyone to be more aware after the beginning of silence period.
He stressed on social harmony and urged everyone to remove cultural discrimination prevailing in society. He added that election observers must hand over a common observation report in commission and in district.
Similarly, HURON chairperson and CCCE co-chair Indra Aryal said that periodic election is the base of democracy and it has its own importance. He further showed his concern on rampant violation of election code of conduct and said that state has failed to implement it.
The program was participated by representatives from NHRC, human rights activists, media and members from civil society. The participants complained about the ineffectiveness of voter’s education and showed concern on violation of election code of conduct and said that the government has failed to implement the code of conduct.
