Candidate seriously injured in ambush attack
Parliamentary election candidate Narayan Bahadur Karki of Nepali Congress Udaypur-2 and his three associated were critically injured when their vehicle was ambushed in the district on Wednesday.
SP Nawaraj Bhatta said Karki and his associates were heading towards an election assembly at Nepaltar bazaar in Udapurgadi rural municipality-6 when they were ambushed at Danuwar Beshi, in between Udaypurgadi rural municipality 5 and 6.
Eyewitness said the vehicle (Ba 15 Cha 7806) was thrown 10 meters up in the air.
Karki’s assistants Mira Katuwal, Dhanmaya Dhaulakoti and driver Rajan Karki. District Police Office said they will be ferried to Kathmandu in a chopper for treatment. The police force has been mobilized in the incident site.
