Banned CPN Cadres Arrested
Police have arrested three cadres including a member of the Secretariat of the banned Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) led by Netra Bikram Chand (Biplav), from the Khurmi Bridge at Gimdi in Bagmati Rural Municipality-7 on January 13.
Among the arrested are Dharmendra Bastola, 57, of Nigahapur in Panchpur Municipality-1, Surkhet, Vibek Kumal, 42, of Sunapani in Raskot Municipality-3 and Tikaram Rakhal Magar, 35, of Haripur in Sindhuli district.
Khimananda Adhikari, the central member of the Nepal Bar Association Nepal, said that the leaders, including Bastola, a member of the banned CPN central secretariat, were arrested in the evening of January 12 while conducting political training. Police also seized a laptop, two iPhones and some cash, the official said.
According to SP Prajwal Maharjan of the Metropolitan Police Circle, Jawalakhel, the case is being investigated by the Lalitpur District Court on January 15.
