Agitator locked TU’s Vice Chancellor, Rector and Registrar inside the office
The agitating TU’s professor union has locked up VC, rector and registrar of the University for About Five hours inside the office. The agitating professors have locked up the officials inside the Public Administration Campus in Balkhu.
The part time professors are agitating since four months demanding to void partial service and appointing them in contract basis. They are more agitated after delaying to address their demand.
As per demand, the Tribhuvan University would issue a special advertisement to begin a process to make permanent appointment of the contract lecturers, said the TU´s VC Hira Bahadur Maharjan. However the demand is not addressed yet.
Chairperson Sashi Kumar Sharma of the union said that they had to lockup the officials in protest of delaying to address their demand. The agitating party is exerting pressure on government by padlocking campuses and disrupting studies. The agitating part time professor federation said that the locked up officials will not be released. The dialogue between the agitating party and University official was held till late on August 21 however the dialogue was not successful.
