High Court Tulsipur issues verdict regarding matter of public concern

The High Court Tulsipur, Nepalgunj bench has issued an order regarding the matter of public concern in the name of the province government.

This is the first time that the province government has been issued such an order.
The order has been issued in the name of Office of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers, Province 5; the Ministry of Industry, Tourism, Forest and Environment and the Traffic Police, Banke which were presented as defendants in the writ filed by three advocates including Bishwajeet Tiwari.
The news about issue under the headline – “Vehicles in Nepalgunj bypass pollution test” was published in media.
As advocate Tiwari said the court’s verdict came swiftly following the RSS news.
A division bench comprising Prem Raj Karki and Shanti Singh Thapa in response to the writ has ordered the province government to ban the renewal of public vehicles completing the 20 years, to follow environment-friendly measures in the development endevours and carry out waste management in the Nepalgunj sub metropolis area as per the law.
Besides, the court has sought the execution of pollution test of public vehicles as per the law. The order came on Thursday.
Bal Bahadur Chand, one of the writ petitioners, stressed that environmental issues should be considered while undertaking development endevours and environment protection should be the concern of all.
