71st CEDAW Session kicks off in Geneva
The international Convention on the Elimination of all Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW) session has kicked off in Geneva of Switzerland from October 22.
On behalf of civil society, an interaction on the report presented at CEDAW committee in coordination from HRTMCC and Women and Legal development center were discussed with members of Nepali NGOs and CEDAW committee members.
The session focused and discussed on major issues of women according to the Advocacy manager Samjha Shrestha of HRTMCC secretariat.
The discussion was focused on issues of citizenship, social discrimination, marginalized community, Dalit women participation and women trafficking etc.
During the program, Bijaya Raj Gautam on behalf of HRTMCC secretariat, INSEC, Samjha Shrestha from Advocacy department and other members from various organizations were presented.
