68 Polling centers categorized as very sensitive in Kalikot
The District Security Committee of the district has categorized 68 polling centers of the district to be very sensitive out of 109 polling centers for the upcoming parliamentary and provincial election.
Out of 109 polling centers, 68 are tagged as very sensitive, 29 as sensitive and 2 polling centers as normal according to CDO Badri Nath Gaire. In security point of view apart from 2 polling centers all are security sensitive according to the officials. For the security of the district, 335 armed police, 400 Nepal Army and 913 temporary police have been mobilized for the election. According the District Election Office, polling officer and assistant including 1246 staffs have been mobilized for the election.
During local level election in Naraharinath rural municipality-6, Serapata polling center, one person had died in a police firing along with two injuries. In the district there are 99 polling stations and 109 polling centers. There are 64,900 voters in the district according to the election office.
The security has been tightened in the district after the anti-election activities is rampant in the district according to DSP Subash Chandra Bohara pf DPO. He said that NCP cadre Kali Bahadur Mahatara was arrested by the police for operating anti-election activities in the district and he is under investigation.
