3 killed in police firing during UML’s campaign

The number of people dying in the open firing of police has reached to 3 in Saptari Rajbiraj on March 6. According to the security sources, those killed in the incident are identified as Sajjan Meheta of Maleth-2, Pitambar Mandal and Ananda Shah of Maleth-4. The victims, Ananda Shah  and Pitambar Mandal of Maleth-4  injured due to gun shot of police in clash were taken to Dharan and died while under going treatment. Similarly, Meheta succumbed to the bullet injury. Other injured are being  treated at BP Koirala  Institute of Health sciences in Dharan.

Police earlier lobbed tear gas and air fired after aggravated supporters of Samyukta Loktantrik Madhesi Morcha (SLMM) started to throw stones towards them at the end of Mechi-Mahakali campaign of CPN-UML scheduled in the district headquarters at Rajbiraj today. Police said, they resorted to firing since the situation was out of control.
